Hello,

If your here and your reading a ton posts and wondering whassup its cause I finally decided to publish my notes, and other technical musings. Having used unix for over a dozen years (Solaris, Irix, *Linux, * BSD, some Aix) I figure its time to dd if=/dev/urandom of=blogspot.

Note these are in no particular order a I have notes on few different machines. Just for some background :

• I have programmed proffessionaly for 6 years (Java/Perl)
  
• I have SA'ed for 9 years
  
• I lead a team of global FreeNIX (Linux/FreeBSD) admins for 3 years
• I am currently a Unix Systems Architect at work (yeah some fancy title for SE / Architecture position)
• I been using WindowMaker for 10 years. I still have some of the themes from the .62 days
  

I am hoping to share some deeper insights like why sysinstall can be a turn off or why top -m io can be your friend, and what kstat ans slabtop really mean.

Unix Philisophy is to create a bunch of solid tools that do a task or tasks well. Its really over the place, from your Iphone (sorta) to you car to keeping the internet afloat.
